New EIN and Interactive Class Management in Education

Presentations on the New EIN which is the richest education information network in the World and Interactive Class Management took place during a meeting participated by the Minister of National Education Nabi Avcı.

New EIN and Interactive Class Management in Education

Main topic of the meeting participated by the minister of National Education Nabi Avcı was the Education Information Network (EIN) which started publication in 2012 and since managed to become a portal that included the world’s largest content in a short period time. It was noted that EIN v2 has started test publication on September 8, 2015 in an effort to meet the growing demand that emerged in time.

EIN v2 was based on three legs which are mainly as follows:

EIN Class: an education management system which is accessible by both teachers and students by using their user names and passwords,

EIN Share: video, audio and visual share platform where teachers, schools, provincial and regional administrations have the opportunity to promote their projects and where they get the opportunity to say, “I also exist.”

EIN Portal: A part including private and state education portals integrated to the system according to the protocol singed with the General Directorate of Innovations and Education Technologies.

 

Innovations provided by EIN are as follows:

The meeting noted that education management system (EMS) was founded due to innovations provided by the new EIN and focused on the following information;

This system recognizes teachers and students, provides feedback and suggestions to them.

It includes rich and interactive contents.

It includes qualities that make students understand, learn and comprehend electronic lesson contents as well as high level of interaction.

It provides teacher- student interaction.

Due to this feature, teachers and students interact; teachers shall give homework, questions and contents of the lessons.

It establishes homework assignment and share system.

Teachers shall be capable of sharing the content of their lessons in and out of the school; outside the class and school hours with students.

The reporting system provides data to decision makers.

Reporting according to the actions of students in the system shall be possible, it shall also provide feedback to the students. Besides, the system allows national education directorates and the Ministry of National Education to do reporting.

The presentation stressed that the new EIN allows measurement and evaluation system and the system also includes paired many questions which are uploaded to the system. Teachers shall be capable of preparing questions and making tests via the system.

All contents and questions are associated with existing corrected data.

The system also includes an effective educational search engine.

The new EIN offers a search engine that only makes educational purpose search and provides results according to the grade and lesson.

The EIN develops personal education management system including content special to the student.

Personal file saving and sharing platforms were formed.

The EIN developed contexts for disabled students and audio book reading devices were distributed.

Context standards were defined and context ecosystem was formed in order to maintain the sustainability.

EIN v2 portal shall be promoted to the public in an upcoming meeting.

 

Control shall belong to the teacher due to the interactive class management system

Presentation about the Interactive Class Management (ICM) was also made during the meeting participated by the Minister of National Education Minister Nabi Avcı.

ICM is class management software that allows teacher and student interaction during the class and teaching via interactive board and tablet. ICM allows the teacher to involve in interaction with students throughout the lesson, the presentation stated. The presentation about the Interactive Class Management included the following information:

Teacher manages the table during this interaction. The control mechanism of the system allows the teacher to limit the applications that might distract the attention of students.

Image sharing among ICM and tablets as well as momentary selections is available.

This software allows personal and group studies under the guidance of the teacher and original projects under the guidance of the teacher.

Maintaining high level of interaction inside the classroom due to the features of ICM aims at increasing the communication level between the teacher and students. Besides class management features allows competing class management processes in a short period of time.

Along with Minister Avcı, Undersecretary Yusuf Tekin, the General Manager for Innovation and Education Dinçer Ateş and other ministry officials were present at the new EIN and Interactive Class Management meeting.
